Last week a good friend of mine completed the TransRockies Race, a week long run through Colorado. She was amazing and all of her months of training clearly paid off. I thought that a congratulatory Hope greeting card, along with a photo of her crossing the finishing line, would be perfect to make her forget about the aches and pains that come with having run 120 miles. I selected the Tiny Superhero card by idokungfoo, which I thought was perfect to let her know that she is my hero.

Hope Is In The Cards
I sent my HOPE greeting card to my hubby of almost 10 years. I chose the Penguin Love card, one of my favorites, and personalized it with a special message just for him. Sometimes amidst all the craziness of work and life with three little kids, I forget to tell him just how much he means to me so today I took the time to put those feelings into words. I hope he loves it!
My free Hope greeting card recipient will, no doubt, be my friend Jennifer. We have been buddies since high school and have weathered many ebbs and flows in our friendship throughout the years. We hold differing political and religious views. I love dogs, she loves cats. She’s a jogger, I’m a, well… not a jogger. Despite our differences, we get along very well and I count her among my best friends. Recently, she’s had some heartbreak – the death of a beloved family member. It’s been, understandably, a very sad time for Jen and I hope that my Hope card will let her know that I am thinking about her and also remind her that I will always be there through all of life’s ups and downs.
Before coming to Cardstore, I spent 3 years living and working abroad. Returning to the US was difficult, as I had to say goodbye to many dear friends and co-workers. So when we first decided to do something special at Cardstore for the Week of Hope, I was thrilled that we were going to allow people to send free cards to not just people in the US, but to friends and family anywhere in the world. This allowed me to send my Hope greeting card to my former Shanghainese co-worker who has been looking for a new job for some time now. It’s a tough economy to be on the job-hunt, but she’s such a wonderful worker, I know some smart company will figure that out soon and hire her. I’m sending her the Fail Whale Hope Card not only because it’s one of my favorite designs, but also because it’s designed by Shanghai-born artist Yiying Lu. Hopefully it will make her smile and encourage her on her job hunt!
