I sent my HOPE greeting card to my hubby of almost 10 years. I chose the Penguin Love card, one of my favorites, and personalized it with a special message just for him. Sometimes amidst all the craziness of work and life with three little kids, I forget to tell him just how much he means to me so today I took the time to put those feelings into words. I hope he loves it!

As President of Cardstore.com, I want to express my apologies for the difficulties you may have encountered while trying to send one of our free Hope Collection cards over the past two days.
The launch of our Week of Hope campaign was so successful that our Cardstore.com website just couldn’t handle all the visitors we had. Our engineering team has been working furiously to correct the problem and have already brought additional servers online to help manage the traffic. By this evening, we think everything should be back to normal.
I know how frustrating it must have been not to be able to send your card and I’m very sorry for the problems we had. If you haven’t ordered your free card yet, you still have plenty of time. And with back-to-school and a holiday weekend coming up, we wanted to give everyone some extra time, so we’re extending the Week of Hope campaign and Hope Giveaway an additional day. So you now have until Tuesday, September 8th to send your message of hope.
Thank you for your patience and a big thanks to everyone for spreading the message of Hope!

President, Cardstore.com
Before coming to Cardstore, I spent 3 years living and working abroad. Returning to the US was difficult, as I had to say goodbye to many dear friends and co-workers. So when we first decided to do something special at Cardstore for the Week of Hope, I was thrilled that we were going to allow people to send free cards to not just people in the US, but to friends and family anywhere in the world. This allowed me to send my Hope greeting card to my former Shanghainese co-worker who has been looking for a new job for some time now. It’s a tough economy to be on the job-hunt, but she’s such a wonderful worker, I know some smart company will figure that out soon and hire her. I’m sending her the Fail Whale Hope Card not only because it’s one of my favorite designs, but also because it’s designed by Shanghai-born artist Yiying Lu. Hopefully it will make her smile and encourage her on her job hunt!
