marina sf fair; SF Event Unique Holiday Gift Ideas

This holiday season I am obsessed with finding unique, one of a kind gifts for my friends and family members.  And I’m already feeling like I’m running out of time and ideas. That’s why I’m heading over to the Bazaar Bizarre San Francisco Craft fair this coming weekend. In it’s fourth year in San Francisco, it features over 100 carefully selected artists and designers of indie and handmade goods such as stationery, clothing, pottery, body products and more.  There’s going to be music, craft workshops and food. And, 50% of the door fees will be donated to arts education organizations.  Sounds good to me.

The other reason I’m going is to visit with some of Cardstore’s fab artists: Dee and Lala will be there as will the gals from Dutch Door Press.  And, Jaime Zollars will also be there.  She even created this poster for the event (see above).  I can’t wait!  And I hope to see you there!

We have just debuted a fantastic bunch of new artist collections and can’t wait to tell you all about them… the first three I will share with you are: Dutch Door Press, Pica Press and Fomato.

Dutch Door Press is housed in a lovely Victorian across the bay from us in San Francisco.  Mara and Anna are the fabulous creative duo who, in 2006, launched their line of folk art inspired stationery. The traditional patterns with a modern twist make for an immensely compelling collection.

Susanne of Pica Press is debuting her collection with a sophisticated line of holiday cards that are sure to please.  Based in Southern California, Susanne is endlessly inspired by her travels, found objects, vintage wallpaper, hand-written postcards and flea market finds.  Her style is simply beautiful.

Fomato (rhymes with tomato) is the wonderfully wacky and clever line created by Emmie.  The offbeat yet sweet characters gracing some of her new holiday cards will appeal to all ages and the funnybone in all of us!
