We’re getting closer to Thanksgiving day, (2 days! so close!) and I’m trying to come up with ways to show how thankful I am for who and what I have around me. I’m absolutely loving this Acorn Squirrel Thanks card designed by Driscoll Design because of it’s sweet and heartfelt design; what’s more endearing than adorable squirrels saying thanks? Here’s to hoping you have a happy, healthy, and thankful Thanksgiving holiday!

One of my favorite cards from the Think Pink Cards Collection is definitely this Lovely Birds Pink Friendship Card from Driscoll Design. I find it so sweet and I think the little details are simply perfect. Paired with this real life photo, they make an adorable couple of love birds.

Ice Cream Inspiration

by Vanessa on August 9, 2010

As we enter the dog days of summer, I find I crave ice cream 24/7. When I came upon this article from The New York Times, my craving got even worse with the yummy-looking picture. So, while chowing down on a perfectly cold ice cream cone, I came up with these images for an ice cream inspiration board. With such bright colors in ice cream, and the kid-friendly feel, there are so many ideas ice cream can provide for clothes, parties, jewelry, decor, and more! Make sure you supplement this with a scoop of your favorite ice cream (mint chocolate chip for me please!)

Last week, my family welcomed the newest addition to our clan of 20-plus cousins: a baby named Jane, with a mop of black hair and legs so long they landed her in the top height quartile! Jane is my aunt Blaithin’s second child, and despite 2-year old Stephen’s pleas to ‘put Jane back in the cot, Mummy,’ she’s had her hands quite full. Since Blaithin (pronounced ‘Bla-heen’) & Co. are an ocean away in Ireland, I can’t help her out by babysitting, so I happily volunteered to order Jane’s birth announcements instead. I picked a few of my favorite Cardstore.com photo birth announcements and Blaithin chose this adorable pink one from Driscoll Design. I personalized it with Jane’s impressive stats (8lb, 14oz!) and had Cardstore.com mail them directly to our relatives in Ireland, all from the comforts of my couch in California. I’d like to think of myself as a remote personal assistant –that, or just a helpful niece.

It’s always fun to see what our artists are up to…in checking in with the lovely Angela Driscoll of Driscoll Design, I discovered that she is about to debut a line of 5 fabulous journals on her website.  They would make perfect gifts for any occasion.  These beauties are printed with soy ink on cream-colored 100% post-consumer recycled paper and lay flat for easy writing.  Their eye-catching sparkle comes from hand-applied glitter!   Containing a hefty 150 pages of lined paper, they are ripe for summer  journal-ing or starting that novel you always meant to write… Beautiful and practical!
