The star of Zelda Wisdom’s hysterical everyday cards, the English bulldog Zelda, has yet another impressive accomplishment to add to her resumé. The Heathman Hotel in Portland, Oregon revealed a bronze sculpture of Zelda on May 21 to celebrate the hotel’s pet-friendly tradition. The sculpture stands at the entrance to the hotel and features Zelda wearing the Heathman Hotel’s famous beefeater costume, along with a dog bowl that will always be full of water for visiting dogs to use. Zelda isn’t new to this kind of publicity, having previously been seen on Oprah, Good Morning America, CNN Live Today, and serving as the “spokesdog” of Delta Society Pet Partners®, an international program dedicated to the human-animal healing bond. Nothing gets us more excited than when new artists join the Cardstore family. So we’re thrilled to welcome Baumbirdy, John McDonald, and Ink and Paper! Baumbirdy’s clever designs, John McDonald’s whimsical gnomes, and Ink and Paper’s use of patterns and colors all are a welcome addition to our paper world.
I just received the nicest thank you note from Jason Priestley and his wife Naomi. They’re expecting a new baby, and wrote to us on one of my favorite Tori Higa thank you cards from their Jewels and Pinstripes bag. The girls in the office went wild over the note, as we all had huge crushes on Jason during his ‘Brandon Walsh’ days. That Naomi is one lucky lady!

There’s nothing more exciting to the Cardstore.com crew than when our artists come visit us. This week, we had the pleasure of hosting Laurie Coughlin from Motormouthpress for lunch and a tour of our office and printing facilities. Laurie designs modern holiday cards and thank you cards that we all love. After spending the afternoon with her, we can honestly say Laurie is as adorable and fun as her cards!
