Thank You Cards

Today is one of those days where I can’t seem to satisfy my caffeine craving. I can’t keep my eyes open! So, in honor of my inability to stay awake (or focus on anything but when my next cup of joe will be), here’s a coffee related inspiration board!

When I saw this pretty display as part of Max & Margaux’s wedding a while back I immediately thought of this quaint Thank You Card from Tori Higa.  I love the idea of a cute display like this in a kitchen–so bright and fun!

While going through the fantastic site Letters of Note last week, I found a letter from Martin Luther King, Jr. to Sammy Davis, Jr. thanking Sammy for his active support in the Civil Rights Movement. It is full of beautiful language and speaks to me in such an incredible way. It really reminded me of how nice it is to receive a thank you note from someone really thanking you from the bottom of their heart. Finally, how incredible is this sentence? “Art can move and alter people in subtle ways because, like love, it speaks through and to the heart.” What a beautiful way to show how grateful you really are.

Japanese Cherry Blossoms

by Vanessa on July 23, 2010

I have always thought Japanese Cherry Blossoms are the most beautiful blossoms out there. There is something about the subtle mix of pale pink and white, along with the brighter burst of color in the center, that gives this plant such a romantic feel. When I saw this Asian Blossom Box stationery, I was inspired to put images together that contained that faded, whimsical romance of the Cherry Blossoms. Hope you enjoy!

Memories of a Soft Monday

by Allison on July 7, 2010

I had one of those three-day weekends where I just curled up with my favorite short story collection (The Collected Stories of Lydia Davis–read it, she’s lovely), nestled into my down comforter, put on some Edith Piaf, and relaxed. I think memories of my soft Monday have permeated my subconscious; I keep drifting toward the same soft and elegant color palette, white and pale pink, and black, and longing for that easy morning which stretched into afternoon.
