The Sweetest 16th

by Tasha on February 19, 2010

Inspired by MTV’s hit show My Super Sweet Sixteen, I thought it’d be a great idea to create a DIY Sweet Sixteen party guide. After her wedding and prom, Sweet Sixteen is probably every girl’s most anticipated celebration. And now that MTV has filled teens’ heads with extravagant, celebrity Sweet 16 bashes, your job as a money-conscious party planner has become that much harder. But don’t fret, we have all that you need to throw a fabulous, economically-friendly Sweet Sixteen Party right here!

Growing up, what was the one thing you looked forward to the most on Valentine’s Day—besides wanting your math crush to acknowledge you? Many of us fondly remember the cute Valentine cards that we stayed up all night personalizing for our classmates and friends. The collection has designs for every child, from silly monster photo cards to scholarly Valentine owls, all printed on high quality, 100% recycled paper. Celebrating Snow Days with DIY Photo Cards

by Tasha on January 21, 2010

Our first instinct may be to stay inside, bundled up by the fireplace at the first sight of snow — but what fun is that? Here in the Bay Area, we’re experiencing quite the Pacific rain storm, which means others elsewhere are enjoying snowfall in a winter wonderland. Our suggestion: ignore those basic instincts to stay bundled indoors, grab your kids, and have fun in the snow! After all, the kids are probably restless from being cooped up in the house.

As greater motivation, you can turn your snow adventure into a fun do-it-yourself art project. The only materials you need are: a camera, your family, and snow. Take action shot photos of the kids in the snow, throwing snowballs, building a snowman, or making snow angels. Then, let them choose which shots they like best and upload them onto Cardstore’s Blank Photo Cards to create a festive winter greeting. This is a fun gift to send friends and family, especially to those for whom ’snow days’ are a foreign concept!

Thank the Santa’s in Your Life with Style

by Tiffany on December 18, 2009

Regardless of whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or Festivus, the holidays are a time of giving and receiving.  And while days are filled to the brim with last minute shopping, holiday parties and shuttling the family from one relative’s house to the other, it’s still no time to forget your manners.  Nothing can quite replace thank you cards for the lovely party your colleague hosted, or the exquisite bracelet with which your best friend surprised you.  So to keep the daunting task of writing thank yous to a minimum, here’s a few tips to help you stay polite during the busy holiday season:

  1. Stock Up! Make sure you have plenty of stamps and thank you cards during the holiday season so you have no excuse not to send one.snowman-thanks
  2. Plan Ahead! Before attending a family gathering that you know will involve presents or a holiday party, address and stamp the thank you cards before you go so you can quickly jot a thank you card as soon as you get home.thanks-brown
  3. Make it Memorable! Use Holiday Photo Thank You Cards to add a special photo to the front of the card, either of you and the gift giver or of you using/wearing the gift.blue-thank-you-photo2

Just remember, as G.B. Stern said, “Silent gratitude isn’t much use to anyone.”
