One of the biggest passions in my life is cakes – which is why some of my favorite birthday cards and party invitations on Cardstore.com are those featuring cakes and cupcakes.
Birthday cakes are actually thought to have been around since the early Greek and Roman times although they didn’t really resemble the fabulous cakes we see today. They were simply flat rounds of bread that were sweetened using honey. Contemporary birthday cakes come in all shapes, sizes and flavors which is one of the reasons I love to make them. Wish someone a Happy Birthday with one of these mouth watering cards!

Handkerchiefs usually are grouped in the ‘old-fashioned, things that aren’t really used anymore’ category, like telegrams and rotary phones. But there’s nothing old-fashioned about these adorably updated happy hanky handkerchiefs from classylittlebride.com. I can just imagine forgoing my typical, unstylish packet of disposable tissue for one of these bright hankies. And since you’re not throwing anything away, the hankies are a lot more eco-friendly. While the site offers fancy wedding day handkerchiefs, there’s also a cute, colorful line for everyday use. This Rosey Posey one is my favorite, and definitely not dated or stuffy in any way!

Thank you cards are always appreciated at Cardstore.com, but this one takes the cake for most adorable. Gwyneth’s daughter, Apple, put her own artistic touches on her Amy Adele thank you card by adding the cutest heart around her name. Apparently, she is as creative and stylish as her name suggests!

Cardstore.com is committed to doing its part to reduce global warming. We have done this by selecting 100% post-consumer recycled papers and working with organizations like FSC and Carbonfund.org. Now we need your help in this effort as well. Last night Marty Reed, our CEO, participated in a town hall discussion sponsored by RePower America and hosted by Al Gore. The goal of the meeting was to rally support for the American Clean Energy & Security Act. To learn more about the meeting and this pending piece of legislation, here is a summary from the San Francisco Examiner. So what can we all do to help? Let your Representatives know that you support this bill and encourage your friends to do the same. The Environmental Defense Fund’s website has created a simple tool to do just that. It only takes a minute to complete and it could make a big difference. Don’t delay, this bill comes up for a vote this Friday the 26th.
