I don’t know what it is, but I find my husband SUPER difficult to shop for. Combine that with the fact that his birthday is in May, and by the time Father’s Day rolls around, I’m fresh out of ideas.
Fortunately, now that we have children, I know that anything our little girls make for him will be well-received.
This year, we made a chalkboard mug–perfect for writing little messages for Dad to see before he goes to work, or for playing games on during breakfast (my four-year-old is obsessed with tic-tac-toe).
What you’ll need:
- A mug
- Painter’s tape
- Chalkboard paint
Tape a straight line around your mug with painter’s tape (including around the handle!).
Paint the bottom half of your mug with chalkboard paint. You don’t want it at the top because it’s not food-safe.
Do a second coat if necessary and remove the painter’s tape.
Let dry completely, write a message on the cup, and you’re ready for Father’s Day!
(P.S. You’ll want to wash this mug by hand, rather than putting it in the dishwasher).
