Last year we decided the most romantic thing to do on such a holiday was go see grown men fight each other on ice. And since it was so much fun, we’ve decided to make “seeing a hockey game” a Valentine’s Day tradition:)

  3. PattyP says:

My husband and I put on little scavenger hunts every year for Valentine’s Day since we’ve been together – and make up puzzles, riddles about each other, etc to get to new locations in our house with a small gift at each stop. It’s such a fun & cute way to spend the evening!

I’m a fairly simple girl. So romantic nights to me are usually at home with a candle light dinner and some soft music playing. This is something my husband did for me last Valentines day. We still get dressed up as if we are going out, but this way it’s just him and I sharing this dinner together

  12. Crystal Newman says:

I’ve never really had a “fancy” Valentine’s Day. One of my more memorable ones though was when my first love dressed in a suit and hid in a closet with roses, and when I got home from work, I had to locate him. When I opened the door, he was standing there looking handsome, holding out the flowers.

  13. Lisa says:

My favorite Valentine’s day was when my husband bought and made an entire meal from scratch. He doesn’t normally cook, so it was such a treat!

  14. Carri Zajac says:

My most exciting Valentine’s day was last year…we were awaiting our first child due in a few weeks. We spent the evening doing what we do best…laughing at our favorite tv shows while feeling the wiggles of our little girl.

  15. Maggie says:

My best Valentine’s Day? I can’t recall exactly. I can tell you my worst, though. Middle of the day, I’d just picked up the kids from preschool. Was exhausted because I’d been sick for days. Went to go take a nap and heard a knock on the door. Opened it to hear that there was a fire in my backyard. A neighbor saw it from the street. I turned around and saw my fence on fire! I had to run outside and grab the hose and try to contain it until the fire dept showed up. It was a whole section of fence that was burning and the flames were pretty big. So at the end of it all, I was wet, hot, tired, and sick. Not super fun, but DEFINITELY memorable!

  16. Rachael says:

My best Valentine’s date was a 5-course tequila dinner at Momocho – we ate so much amazing food and obviously drank a ton of tequila. I’ll never forget it!

  17. audra1979 says:

Hmmm, is it telling that I can’t think of the last really great Valentine’s Day I had?? :)

  18. Michelle says:

I was a senior in college and had just finished balling my eyes out to my best (guy) friend about wanting to break off my ill-fated engagement to another guy because I wasn’t sure I was ready for marriage, much less preparing to marry the right guy. My friend listened intently and was patient as I sobbed my way through the conversation. As I calmed down and wiped my blotchy eyes and runny nose, my friend grabbed my hand, looked in my eyes and said, “You should make the decision that makes you happy. Forget everyone else for a moment and what they think. What do you want? If, in the end, you decide to call it off, you don’t have to worry about being alone. Cause I love you. I always have.” That was 7 years ago. Two kids later, that friend and I are blissfully happy…as husband and and wife.
